Engraved S and W Mod 28 non-factory.
This is a Smith and Wesson Highway Patrolman early 5 screw, I had it lettered from the factory. They said it shipped to Portland Oregon in 1955 and was not engraved at the factory, I bought it from a relatives estate sale in Illinois in 2003 for 300 dollars. Would you be able to give a thought as to who engraved this pistol from the pics? The screw heads are engraved with a fluting type pattern if that helps, was never able to find any mark or initials even with the help of a magnifying lens.

It is really hard to tell from the picture but the work has the look of the Kornbrath/Fugger/Greibel school & it wouldn't surprise me if it was done by one of them.
My thoughts,

Weldon
