FFL in California
|
California implemented some new regs for FFL holders (type 1 and 2) that require anyone shipping to an FFL holder in California to obtain an authorization number from CA DOJ before shipping. I'll work on getting this info in a format that can be posted so you can all see what is required.

Hi Kevin.
Thank you for posting the info about the new California Department of Justice regulations.
I have been doing a little sweating over them myself.
From what I can make out the bottom line is that an out of state FFL is required to obtain a letter stating that the CA FFL holder they are shipping to has a Calif Dept.of Justice regstration number.
As I don't buy guns or receive work from out of state FFL's I don't think I want to add another layer of regulations to what I do.
At this time I think I will just carry on with only my FFL and only do work and return it to private, non-FFL people.
Most of my work come from private individuals anyway.
And any display piece I ever dispose of is always run through a dealer with a retail gun shop, an FFL and now the required California paperwork.
Good old California seems to be able to invent new schemes to complicate life and drive work and income out of the State.
And this smells like another one.
Please excuse my rant. Best to you and look forward to hearing from you and others on this subject.
