Polymer Reproductions
I have a chance to buy a number of the Polymer sample engraving reporductions from several different engravers. Does anyone have any idea of the value of the samples? Are they commonly available? I want to be fair to the seller, the price has kind of been let up to me. Before I saw these I did not know they existed. The detail in the copies is very good, I think they will be a great study aid.
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Hello and welcome Rick.
The castings you mention are of great value as study models and records of fine engraving.
Most of the standard size ones about the size of a rifle floor plate or equal generally sell for $10-15 each.
Many of the larger or more complex ones sell for considerably more.
FEGA has a downloadable catalog on this forum showing the price of the castings that it has for sale.
This may give you an idea of the pricing.
I have a large collection of castings myself and highly treasure them.
Best regards, hope this is some help. John.

John,
Thanks for the quick response and the link to the samples. I see several of the ones I am thinking about buying and with the prices listed with the samples it gives me the information I needed. Thanks again.

Rick,

If you see any photos of engravings you might want to contact the engraver since many of them make their own castings and have them for sale.
