Robert Kain Engraver
I have a opportunity to purchase this pair of Ruger Single-Six revolvers. They are part of a 40 gun project done for Ruger Collectors Association done in 1983 and 1984. The 20 spanish and 20 Jerred copies of the originals done in the 1954 to 1957.

I did find a little information on the engraver in C.Roger Bleile's book American Engraver. I wonder if other members could provide other insights into Robert C, Kain

Fyi I made contact with Alvina M. Kain today. Robert passed away 11-2008 athe age of 80. He and Alvina were married 63 years.

Alvina said she has a folder wit old notes and drawings She invited me to come and see Bob's potter's wheel engraving bench.

She further said that Bob was a hammer and chisel engraver.

I may try and do it after the weather gets better.

John,

I am sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I'm glad however that you were able to follow up with his widdow. It looks like you have two really nice revolvers there. If you make the visit let us know and send my regards to Mrs. Kain.

John:
I have a new unopened copy of Rugers engraved revolvers it is on gun broker if you are interested, it is still in the plastic, I ended up with two or I wouldn't be selling it.

Hank: thanks for the offer, I already have this book. I will let my gun dealer Scott know, he currently has my copy. As it turns out I made a deal for one gun only. Scott still has the spanish model for sale, I put another collector in touch with Scott and it may not be for sale much longer.
