| Hello new to the site was thinking of buying the scroll books by ron smith My question is do you need both books, are they like a series or is the latest book (advanced drawing of scrolls) an accumulation of all his work so far. I also note the soft cover is no longer sold? thanks in advance for any advice Paul |

| Hi Paul and welcome. Both of Ron's books are great and I treasure them. I think you would be in good shape just having his second book however, if money is a consideration at this time. Get them both if you can afford them. Engraving books always seem to become collector item at some point. Just my thoughts,best of luck. John. |

| I agree with john Barraclough - if you can afford both of Ron's books you should have them. I have mine close at hand all the time. Even after all these years at the engraving bench I refer to those books - mostly when I get stuck on a scroll pattern or need some inspiration about developing new scroll patterns. There are no other resources that will serve you so well as you study and learn about scrolls. Mike Dubber |
