Thompson-Contender
Is it possible to clean up the T.C. to engrave or would it weaken
the sides too much? Was thinking of having the sides of the rec surface grd to get a clean flat surface
Thanks

Bob, For what it's worth, The "Puma" you see etched on the side of those Contenders is done to cover up blemishes on the surface due to investment casting of the frame. There is a good chance that if you grind off the etching, the surface may be worse than when you started...i.e. pin holes.
For a while, it was possible to get a Contender frame we called a flat side.
They were hand picked off of the assembly line because they didn't have any blemishes, and they weren't etched with their trademark PUMA.
I don't know if those are still available since the TC2 arrived.
My advise is to leave your TC alone....look for a flatside.
