Topic: J.M. Bergling Books wanted Number of Responses: 4
I am looking for books authored by J. M. Bergling in good condition.
Any and all titles but in particular those dealing with ornamental lettering are what I'm after right now with the exception of "Ornamental Designs and Illustrations" which I just bought. Thanks!
As a side note, there used to be a lot of these titles listed here in the book section of this site. Where'd they go?

Topic: GRS Engraving Equipment for sale! Number of Responses: 3
GraverMax, 2 handpieces (910 and 710 I believe), Power Hone, Ceramic Lap, 260 grit wheel, 600 grit wheel, standard sharpening fixture, chasing hammer, 3 sharpened gravers, 6 quick release graver holders, 2” x 6” practice plates (5), 2” x 2” practice plates (4), etc. See the photos.
All equipment is almost brand new. The ceramic lap has had a slight amount of use. The other two wheels appear unused. The GraverMax is perhaps 10 + years old though it too has hardly ever been used. If purchased separately the cost would be over $2200 - asking $1300 plus shipping. For more information call me at 406-542-2880. Thank you. |

Topic: Cronite Pantograph for sale. Number of Responses: 0
For Sale: Cronite Pantograph. Includes one lettering template - Morgan FB256f - a 'Roman' style, forward reading font. The machine is useful for layout of your engraving design. The machine will reduce a drawing down to the size required on the item you are engraving. Particularly useful for lettering and reducing wildlife or scenes to precisely fit on the engraved piece.
Asking $1400. If you have any questions or are interested please give me a call at 406-542-2880.
Thanks. |

Topic: Beginner looking for powergraver tool Number of Responses: 7
Hello, it was suggested I join this forum and start reading the postings and asking questions. So, here goes.
I came to working on firearms through my love of history and their association with history. Prior to that I worked my way through graduate school as a jeweler. What little 'engraving' I did was with hand tools. I've tried a little line engraving with push tools in steel and it is not practical (as I am sure you all know). Two weeks ago I tried the new GRS powergraver machine and was very impressed with what I was able to do in just a couple of minutes. The sales woman was rather impressed, too. Coming to my question.... to get started, what equipment do I need? I'm on a tight budget (school teacher with 2 kids) so I can't afford to spend more than necessary for the basic tools. If anyone has a used machine for sale I'd be interested. Oh, I have two Fordham flexshaft tools and am wondering if there is a hand piece that would work with one of them for engraving. Or, would someone be interested in taking one in partial trade toward a power engraving machine?
