Topic: Engraving Needed On Very Old Shotgun  Number of Responses: 2

Hello, I own my Great Grandfathers shotgun. Some of the original lettering on the barrel is getting very thin and I wanted to try to find someone to deepen the existing lettering before I get it re-blued. If you know anyone in the South that does hand engraving on a small job like this I would greatly appreciate the help. I am in Pensacola Florida. Thank You, John

Topic: Cronite Pantograph for sale.  Number of Responses: 0

For Sale: Cronite Pantograph. Includes one lettering template - Morgan FB256f - a 'Roman' style, forward reading font. The machine is useful for layout of your engraving design. The machine will reduce a drawing down to the size required on the item you are engraving. Particularly useful for lettering and reducing wildlife or scenes to precisely fit on the engraved piece.

Asking $1400. If you have any questions or are interested please give me a call at 406-542-2880.

Thanks.

Topic: Check Off Box vs. Signature  Number of Responses: 4

A question has arose that I would like your comments and vote on.
Website new membership application : signature or check off box
As I understand it....this is the way it now works.
If somebody sends in a membership via the website, we send them a application
to be signed that they "understand that acceptance of the code of Ethics is a requirement for membership".....
They can request "Not to be included on the mailing list "(Privacy notice)

The proposal is to change this from a signature to a check off box that can be
emailed with payment. I see no problem with this unless someone else sees
an issue. This should make memberships faster and easier to process

I would appreciate Officers input......especially Bill Gamradt....who will be setting
this up, and Shannon who will be working with it on a day to day basis.
Please email me and other officers with your comments or use the Board of Dir.
forum on the FEGA website. I would like to have all votes into me by Sept. 9th.
Thanks,
Bob Strosin

Topic: Reno show hotel info update  Number of Responses: 2

The Silver Legacy is sold out some nights of the Firearms Engravers & Gunmakers Exhibition room block (Wed. & Thurs.) and there are not a lot of rooms left the other nights. The rest of the hotel has been sold out for some time.

We have arranged a block of overflow rooms at the John Ascuaga's Nugget. It will be the same room rate as the Silver Legacy, will include a $6 per day per room food credit.

To make reservations at the Nugget:

1 (800) 648-1177 or (800) 647-1177 Group GGUNS

A great facility with lots of quality restaurants. Free shuttle to the airport. Same room rate as the Silver Legacy, and includes the $6 per day food credit. Cancellations must be 48 hours prior to arrival. Rooms include unlimited use of the pool, fitness center, full service concierge and valet and self parking in the Nugget's secured covered parking. SCI buses run on a regular basis. If you don't stay at the Silver Legacy, call the Nugget for your room.

Topic: Engraving a name on a handgun  Number of Responses: 5

I found your website and hope someone can help me, or refer me to someone who can. My wife inherited a revolver that belonged to her grandfather. It is in excellent condition and I would like to have his name engraved on the backstrap; ten letters. We live in southeast Kansas and I would want to drive to the person who would do the engraving.
I now this is a small job, but it would be meaningful to her.

Regards

Topic: graver configuration for 24K gold engraving.  Number of Responses: 2

What is considered the best graver configuration for engraving on gold? I am using a carbide square graver with a 60 deg. face, a 110 deg belley and a 20 deg heal. It works but has a tendancy to dive on me and is difficult to control.
