Topic: recommended engravers bench  Number of Responses: 6

Hello to all,
I'm a new member to FEGA and I was very grateful to recieve the packet in the mail yesterday. I've been a goldsmith for all of my career and I am very excited to finally take engraving seriously. I'm presently rounding up all of the equipment to start working on some practice plates and I have a question about the engraver's bench. Which bench do you folks find that works the best for engraving? Are most folks engraving under microscopes? The bench I've had for many years now is great for jewelry making and measures 36"H x 48"W x 22"D. Taller benches are available, in the 38" to 39" range. Could someone recommend an ideal engraver's bench?
Thank you,
Carver Tripp

Topic: 73 Winchester found  Number of Responses: 8

Want to thank all you guys for your suggestions and efforts to help me find a 73 Winchester. I located one that is working out perfect. It is cleaning up nicely. Now I need to have the barrel relined and new wood, and I'm off to the races. Now if I can get the stamina to engrave it..... Look out Marty, here I come. :)...Ron S

Topic: H&K P47  Number of Responses: 0

I have a customer that wants his H&K P-47 engraved.
I don't have any experience with this particular gun and was wondering if any one out there did.
I don't want to take this on if it shouldn't be done.
Any thoughts?

Topic: NEED HELP  Number of Responses: 5

I recently inherited a 1948 model 12 Winchester 12 gauge. The receiver is fully engraved with gold inlay. There is a name on the receiver, Ogawa.
Can anyone tell me some information on this person? I know he is from Japan. I would like to get some more information if possible. I can send pic's if anyone would like to see them. My father-in-law was an avid trap shooter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much.

Topic: Diamond spray with water base versus alcohol base  Number of Responses: 0

Hi all, I'll want to buy a diamond in spray. I live in Spain. This is a problem because this product has an extra shipping charges, because is a hazardous material. I've find in www.crystalite.com, diamond spray with water base, not with alcohol base, I'll use with ceramic wheel. Please, could you tell me if someone check it? Does this spray use as similar as GRS' product? I need to do a job as soon as possible.
Thanks a lot.

Topic: FMG Award winners  Number of Responses: 0

For those of you who read the recent ENGRAVER and wondered about my article and where FMG disappeared..........I messed up and left it out. And the winners are Sam Welch, Steve Heilman, James Tucker, Pete Mazur. That's a pretty good crowd if you want a custom gun. The Firearms Marketing Group or FMG award is given for a project that was a cooperative effort of guild members from both FEGA and ACGG. Those of you who attended will surely remember the dandy little "rabbit" gun Sam had on his table. That was the winner. Sorry for the ommission.
