Topic: How can I be an informed client? Number of Responses: 2
Bernard,
I created Roger Bleile's International, Illustrated Glossary of Hand-Engraving Terminology for people like you. In the glossary you will find definitions of over 300 engraving terms and over 400 pictures to go with the definitions. Sifting through the glossary will help you become an informed patron of the engraver's art.

Best wishes,
C. Roger Bleile |

Topic: Winchester 42--Who Done It?--A Churchill? Number of Responses: 8
I recently aquired a Winchester model 42 Pigeon Grade that is very nicely engraved and has gold inlays of birds and pointers. I was told that the work was done by a son of Winston Churchill. I was also told his name was Ivan. I found the initials "L.C." under the paw of a pointer and well hidden in the grass. So much for Ivan; unless he spells it with an "L". So who is "L.C."? Does Winston Churchill have a son with the initial, "L"? If so, does he follow in his father's footsteps as an engraver? What is his name and how do I authenticate the work? If not, then who is "L.C."? Does anyone have any ideas about who may have done this work? I would very much like to have a name to put with the initials. Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Sheppard Burton? |

Topic: FEGA Issue #83 Number of Responses: 0
I just wanted to let FEGA members know that issue #83 of the Engraver will be shipping on Monday or Tuesday. Each time I get one of the latest issues I say that Andrew won't be able to top the last one and somehow he did it again!! This particular issue is quite special as it is so full of great stuff we expanded the issue an additional 4 pages! Because of printing and shipping costs we won't be doing this every issue but due to the length of an article in this one we decided to go ahead.
And yes... I am going to keep you in suspense.....
Keep an eye in your mailbox. Also, once you get the issue, pay attention to the mailing label. This is the time of year that many of you need to renew. You don't want to miss any issues!.
In fact after spending all day making flyers and mailing labels, I am going to sit back and read the latest issue myself!

Topic: engraving demonstrations Number of Responses: 1
I am researching metal engravers who travel and do demonstrations. If you know of engravers who do this or are willing to, particularly in the southeast texas area, please email me at: ameliawig@gmail.com.
Thank you,

Topic: FEGA Member Martin Strolz Number of Responses: 1
I just got a "sneak peek" at the instruction material for Martin's Grand Master Course...
I AM BLOWN AWAY!!!!
Martin, that is awesome!! There is a 54 page book and 3 CDs. The "practice plates" are a work of art themselves! I can't imagine how much time you spent preparing this!!
Just like the rest of your work, the classroom materials are a work of art!
Looking forward to seeing you again!
Rex
