Topic: FOR SALE: OM-1 MICROSCOPE  Number of Responses: 0

I am listing for sale a OM-1 Carl Zeiss Stereo Microscope for engravers. It can be used in the standing position, or the sitting position. It is the OM-1 Stereo Microscope, but is listed with Carl Zeiss as the OpMi-1. The Zoom range is from 6x Power to 40x Power with 10X Eyepieces. The optics are the ultimate, the amount of light they let in is incredible. It comes with built in Fiber Optic Lighting system that is state of the art lighting. It all works on a rack and pinion gearing. These Zeiss scopes were made for micro surgery and are precision for engraving as well. I believe that Steve Lindsay the manufacture of the Air Graver uses one. I am listing here First before I list it on another graver form, or on Ebay to give the Engravers of FEGA first. If you are interested you may reach me by calling Area Code 954-518-0360 or Cell Number 745-214-4645. If you would like to discuss it more via Email, you can email me at: hrdd@comcast.net . Carl Zeiss Microscopes are probably the finest Scope there are. It will never lose its value and will always have the finest preformance. I dont know what else there is you might want to know, so email me or call and I will answer all questions. I can send photos thru email also. I am asking $2,500 for the whole set-up. Head, Stands Booms, fiber Optics, Lenes etc.
Thank you,
William

Topic: Preparing for Reno  Number of Responses: 8

Hello Forum and Fellow Guild Members,
Here is a receiver that I'm just starting to engrave in preperation for the show in Reno--the photo is of the belly. This piece has been filed, shaped and the surface prepped for engraving. This piece will be complete full coverage. I'm just starting to understand the proper way of taking photos.
In the ribbons will be written (in German) the words "No Borders" for this piece will have no physical borders, this piece will recognize no particular style.
I welcome any and all comments.
Thank you,
Mark Smith

Topic: The other fence on the hammer gun  Number of Responses: 6

Hi Everyone.

Well, here’s the other side of the hammergun fence. This time it’s a Kea (Key-ah) which is a native alpine parrot. They stand about 12 inches high and are as cheeky and destructive as hell but quite beautiful. Many a skier has parked their car up in the mountains only to return later in the day with all the rubber stripped from their car. Their predominant colour is green.

It’s quite appropriate that the Sparrow hawk and Kea be on the fences of the gun. Until recent years (about the 50’s or 60’s) they were both considered pests as they worried sheep and especially the lambs. Therefore it was considered OK to shoot them. Trouble is the farmers damn near wiped them out so now they are a protected bird. Thank goodness. The Kea even had a gun named after it. It was called the Kea gun and was a small 410 cartridge pistol type shotgun that farmers carried around especially to shoot them.

As always, your comments on any ways to improve it for the future are always welcome.

Cheers
Andrew Biggs
